Why Does It Matter?

We find it difficult to believe that New York City’s women want to abort their pregnancies at nearly twice the national rate. The vast majority of these women are single women in their late teens and early twenties. We think it is much more likely that too many of these women feel like they have no choice. And this is a state of affairs that we cannot accept. At a minimum, we believe that it is imperative that we work to ensure that no woman chooses to have an abortion because she feels like she has no choice.
